Gutters, Finally!

Ahhhh, new rain gutters!  We’ve been without gutters for almost 4 months.  We removed them, along with the vinyl siding on our 1939 stone house, as the final part of a 10-year restoration.  Some of you may remember that we were without gutters during the Nashville 500-year flood in May.  Not surprisingly, our basement flooded.   DSC 4479 Gutters, Finally!

Since then, my husband and I have been debating what exact kind of gutters we wanted for this house.  After much research and debate (you have no idea), we finally ordered musket brown half-round gutters.  And then we waited.  And waited.  Special order, you know.  Early this week, they FINALLY arrived and were installed.

I can tell you that NO ONE has ever been happier to get new gutters.  No more panic attacks every time gray clouds gather.   No more spreading tarps (this blue one has been a lifesaver) around the foundation everytime it thunders.  No more checking the basement every twenty minutes during a rainstorm. Iam so-o-o-o-o happy you have gutters! They are absolutely beautiful. I never thought I would say that about gutters. I am also glad that I have a new word in my vocab – “leaderheads”. Maybe that will come up one day in my crossword puzzles. I especially like the cute ‘pixie’ om the porch.

Looks great. Perfect color. They really blend in with the roof — you don’t really notice them. But I DID notice the leader-heads. NICE!!!
