actually, it was pretty easy. my daughter was taking photos for the blog as i made the book stack, then i went through the pictures and thought, “this looks like a filmstrip.” what was easy was not having to write at all!

why did you take off the top cover of @ book? What decorating effect does the cover on or off and put twine on the books have in a rm.

I’m new at following your blog and I love it so far. I also love the book idea, but taking covers off books (even old worn out ones) kind of makes me feel bad. Do you think it would have the same effect if I left the covers on? Or did you take off the covers to make the stack of books kind of a neutral piece? Do you think the covers would take away from the overall look?
I know what you mean, Lorie. This is the first time I have de-faced a book. Except I did cut out some pages from a paperback version of Twilight for decor at a themed vampire dinner party, but I’m not sure that counts! If it makes you feel any better, the book covers in the video were stained and a bit moldy, so they needed to go anyway. But if the colors are consistent, you could definitely use books with covers.
