Are You Decorating Like A Teenager?

You may have heard me say this before, but Pottery Barn Teen is a great resource for unexpected home accessories that don’t necessarily belong in your teenager’s bedroom.  When I got their most recent catalog last week, I swooned over all the fun finds!  My favorite were these gorgeous drapery panels – perfect for a cottagey, beachy, or shabby chic kind of look:

I love this “vintage” mirror for above a dresser or console table.  And aren’t those botanical decals absolutely fabulous????  Less commitment and less expensive than wallpaper.  Both are currently on sale!

Anyone from Texas (that’s about half the residents of Nashville, ya’ll) would love one of these driftwood stars hanging in their home.

Show some love by recovering the family room’s sofa pillows with the pillow covers pictured below.

Open your mind when decorating – mixing things up with interesting finds keep your home fresh and not so cookie-cutter.  Do you have other unexpected sources where you find decorative accessories?

      Dianne,
There isn’t a PB Kids or a PB Teen (they are different) in Nashville, but you can buy from their websites.

Oh, I forgot about that one, Alicia! i don’t think so, although the grown-up Pottery Barn did close there . . .

I absolutely wouldn’t mind having any of these! It looks like, despite my 30 years, I indeed decorate like a teenager 😉 But seriously, this reminds me a lot of scandinavian design plus beachy / cottage-y feel, as you said, so all is well! Because those are my favorite styles and since we are in the process of buying a house, I thought about this a lot recently 😉

Ahhh…I AM from Texas, and I DO love that driftwood star! Actually, I love anything driftwood…it all began with these driftwood mirrors that I put in our living room…

In fact, one of my readers commented that you can find similar mirrors at PB Teen for only $99! Love PB Teen.

PS – Love the curtains as well…very romantic
