Pink and Red Rooms

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, sweet inspiration for your home in the shades of pink and red.

In my decorated past, I typically would choose a shade of pink or red for a room – one or the other. Now, I clearly see how much more lovely they look together. Red makes lighter pink more bold, more daring, more fun.

Can you imagine being so bold as to mix these vivid colors? So confident! Which is what we should be in our own homes, don’t you think?

A pink living room? Well, why not? Pepto Bismol pink is not normally my choice, but it’s all about context. The bold yellow fabrics and salon-style artwork erase any thoughts of childishness.

Hi Kristie-

I have a room painted in one of these colors. It’s a lot like the raspberry colored bedroom above. I love the color however it is a very dark room, not much natural light gets in. How can I brighten it up? It is our family room, and this is mainly the room the kids play in, watch TV, etc.

I love red and I love pink. So happy to see these colors used with others. I used accents of red in my sun room. And want a red leather sofa and love seat for my family room. Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures with us. Gives me ideas of other colors I can use.
