Wall Stickers

Over the last couple of years, I have noticed some promising developments in wall design that doesn’t involve the expense and permanence of wallpaper, painted murals, and the easily-cheesiness of do-it-yourself stenciling. Yay for vinyl wall stickers! Michaels carries some called Hip in a Hurry.  Most are geared for children’s rooms, but there’s one that has graphic shapes that might work in an informal, modern room.

rococo wall I found a couple of sites that carry some much more original and imaginative patterns that I wanted to share with you.  One company called Single Stone Studio has got beautiful ones that would look great in a modern home.  You’ve got to check some of these out!

 I LOVE this one!

Then I ran across this site with the most amazing line of vinyl wall stickers to add magic and whimsy to a baby or child’s room. The site is www.lovemaestore.com They are stinking beautiful!!!!   And they are all woodland animals and birds, which I love.  I collect birds, deer, and owls myself – so I’m kinda partial to woodland animals.  These stickers aren’t terribly cheap, but for the effect they give they are totally worth it.

I have been looking at wall stickers for a long time and am happy to have a couple of good resources for some. The ones I’ve found in the past are either waaaaay too expensive or they are waaaaaay too kitschy. These are fab! Thanks, KB!

There’s also the company called “uppercase living”–mostly words/phrases but some designs, too.

I had a seventies version of these in my room as a little girl. Huge green and yellow flowers! Definitely a fresh approach to wallpaper. Great find, KB!

Also, when you consider the price of art/oil paintings, these are a much cheaper alternative (with not much commitment). These might be just the thing I need to break up a big awkward wall in the kiddo’s playroom…

Where are they in Michael’s? I have to go there tomorrow, but will have the crazies with me, so I won’t have time to browse around and look.

In the Cool Springs Michaels, they are about 6-8 aisles back on the far left side from the front door. Have you seen the 100 Oaks Michaels lately? It’s huge and amazing!!

i went tonight to the new michaels–amazing is right! sadly, they did not have the wall stickers. grrrrr. but the rest of the brightly-lit and well-laid-out store definitely distracted me from the disappointment. i have to go back there without the kids, though.
