When I blogged about glamping, one of my readers commented about how expensive it is to glamp in style. Afterall, “glamorous camping” is all the rage with celebrity-types. So I decided to do a little research to see how expensive it really was and if there was an affordable glamp-site nearby. I hit the jackpot when I stumbled upon The Martyn House! |
The Martyn House is a historic home and property located on a ridge above Ellijay, north of Atlanta. It features three secluded luxury tents tucked into the corners of the forested property. Each tent is fully furnished with antiques and styled after traditional India tents the proprietors’ visited while in India. Take a peek inside: |
A tent is $180 per night, double occupancy. Each tent has a bathroom and a heater for cold nights. Breakfast and afternoon tea is included.
During your stay you can take art or photography lessons, get a massage, or even hike and fish (haha). The Martyn House hosts weddings and events, as well.
Now the question is: who’s going with me and when can we make reservations? Girl trip!!!!

not without air conditioning….
um, that looks amazing. i’ve never camped…but THAT i could get into.
I totally want to go there!
OOOOHH, fun!!! I could hike and fish while you take an art lesson, then I’m sure we’d each enjoy a massage before afternoon tea =). I’ve never seen a place like this – I love the idea of comforts in the middle of nature!!
Count me in when the humidity stops.
Let’s go girl!!
Count me in girl. (when the humidity goes away)
Let’s go.
…. “hike and fish…!” haaaaaaa
silly people.
Now, this is some camping I could handle!
missy, i think you have the perfect plan! have fun fishing, meet you for the massage!
I’m in! I want to have an event in that party tent!! Soo chic with red and turquoise!! Where have I seen that combo recently…?? 😉
ok, i think we should rent out the entire facility and do a weekend decorating workshop!!! plus multiple daily massages!
Ditto.. I don’t camp, but I think that might be nice… those phot’s seem to evoke a sense of calm. Definitely curious…
