Butterfly Wallpaper, Oh My!

Ok, wallpaper is a big commitment.  But this winter weather is getting me down!  I *heart* this wallpaper from York – it would be so cute in my kitchen!  I just love the avocado with the blue and yellow, don’t you?

This is part of the kitchen where there is wallspace to wallpaper.  The butter yellow wall extends to right several feet past what this photo shows, and there’s more yellow wallspace behind me from where I took this photo.

I

I really don’t have much wallspace in there, what with the cabinetry and beadboard – so it wouldn’t be overpowering.  And it wouldn’t be expensive, as it would only take a couple of rolls.

What do you think?   Would this be fabulous, or am I just overtaken by my desperation for spring in this cold weather?

Very vintage, very you. Go for it! (With lots of sizing!) Or you could just cut out thin boards to fit the backs of your shelves and cover them with wallpaper for a lot of look with no commitment.

I love the paper! I struggle through January with the winter blahs, so I am not a good one to ask ..right now I would say do the whole house! 🙂 Actually I really like the shelf idea…think it would wonderful in your kitchen!!

Kristie – your kitchen is adorable!! So, so cute.
I do love the wallpaper. If it’s something that will make you happy to look at everyday, then by all means…go for it! Not sure how much wall space you have in the rest of the kitchen. It is a very small area around the window, however, so you might benefit from a larger pattern repeat if used behind the shelves…

It’s beautiful…go for it. The best part is it will not only brighten up winter but be ideal for spring and summer too. As you said you have only a little painted wall in there and so much painted woodwork that it will not overwhelm the decor in there.

I’m interested for either my powder room or guest bath.

Could ya / Would ya please share the name and/or # of the pattern or book name/# ??

My dad claimed that wallpaper was the major cause of divorce in America. On his first wallpaper adventure in a teeny, tiny bathroom, he pasted those pastel butterflies upside down. They stayed there until we sold the house a few years later; and my parents celebrated over 50 anniversaries. Love conquers all.
