Last weekend I shared before-and-after of a client’s grandchildren’s room. I also shared that I was encouraging her to paint the ceiling in this room a lighter shade of the bedspread and the beds themselves a granny smith apple. |
I went back to her home earlier this week to help her tweak some things before her daughter’s wedding (the wedding is in her front yard this afternoon!). I was happy to see that she painted her ceiling like I suggested. It looks so good and she loves it! It feels like the ceiling is actually taller than before. Oh, only one of the beds was made, but I had to take a picture anyway. She hopes to get around to painting those beds soon – I’ll keep you informed! |
your right. it does make a huge difference. i know a great furniture painter if she needs help with those beds. i’ve actually been imagining them this week in their apple green glory!
YEAH!!!!!
love the painted ceiling! I actually did this in my toddlers room and it turned out great as well!
What color do you think she will paint the beds? I love the look of the painted ceiling. A friend of mine painted her kitchen ceiling a beautiful light robins egg blue. I wish we had flat ceiling. We have popcorn throughout and I hate it.
I really like this. I had been hesitant to consider ceiling colors thinking that it would only work in a room with crown molding, so I was glad to see an example in a room without.
alicia – yes, you can do it without crown moulding. but when there is no moulding, i usually just wrap the ceiling in the same color as the rest of the walls. it makes it feel kind of boundariless, if you know what i mean. in this case, the client wanted to keep the walls neutral so we just did the ceiling.
