My long weekend plans include painting more chair upholstery with chalk paint and hitting the swimming pool for the last big hurrah of the summer. I thought I’d share with you an Inspiration Board I just sent out this morning to a sweet e-design client in California.
She needed help casting a vision for her living room, so I worked up this Inspiration Board along with a furniture floorplan and a Pinboard with resources and alternative options. Do you like? Have a terrific holiday weekend, my friends!
Looks great! Have a fantastic relaxing weekend!
Looking forward to seeing you Tuesday!
It’s amazing as usual!
thank you, kizzy!
The white bookcase and side table might look better in the same brown as the latticed base of the main coffee table and lamp shades. Also, the two matching lamps may cast an awkward glare on the flat screen TV hanging on the wall, but I like your choice of putting them on either side of a TV.
Thanks for your input, Roya! The lamps wouldn’t be on when the television is on. The idea is to not make it all about the television. And I like to mix up wood and painted pieces so it looks less like a set.
Love the colors! We are planning on using the same palette in our living room. Instead of a blue sideboard, I plan on painting ours bright yellow…hoping for a nice pop of color!
Have a great weekend!
Sounds great, Jessi! Paint is awesome 🙂
I really like the colors! very nice
Another designer whose blogs I read, Linda Holt, has that same wall color and drapes that look just like those (same color and pattern). It’s the second picture that comes up on that blog.
I like it. I am currently redoing our living room and I am also into the mix of gray, green and blue and oak and white furniture, so this one is right up my alley. I haven’t thought about furniture in a bright color so I might consider this… thanks for sharing!

I really like the blend of patterns and styles. I found your blog about nine months ago and love your designs! I too have been sprucing up the living room and wished I would have considered different styles of furniture. My big dilemma is how to decorate the wall around our fish tank , which would be the “focal point”.
Love the room you did. And also the software program. What software are you using for your inspiration boards? Is it relatively easy to use?
Thank you! I created it with Olioboard, you should check it out.
