Silhouettes, Not So Old-Fashioned

Le Papier Studio is all about the art and beauty of silhouettes, and you’ve gotta check out what they have to offer!  I first read about this website in the Dec/Jan issue of Country Living, which featured their customized silhouette family tree.

Here’s the coolest thing:  you can choose between lots of different head silhouettes that approximate your family members, or you can send them your own family photos and they will customize the silhouettes!   I’d love to have a pillow like this on my sofa with my daughters’ silhouettes:

Le Papier Studio is  a small woman-owned business that expresses the creativity and inspiration of artist and writer Vana Chupp.   She creates personalized silhouette art like this to capture memories of childhood and other special moments in time.

For a more modern take on silhouettes, how about a set of fun melamine silhouette plates?  You can eat right off your own face!

I think in the old days there used to be people who would go from door to door painting people in silhouette form for a living! Interesting that this art form is gaining popularity again.

I am in love with the silhouette of the man and woman standing near the bicycle below the tree!
