The Best of Gray

Yesterday Maria Killam of Colour Me Happy featured a quote from me (among other color experts) regarding one of my favorite grays.

Check out the post here to get the low-down on all the hottest grays this season.   Thank you for the mention, Maria!  You are such a rock star . . .

    Hi Kristie,
I have just come across your blog. I want to say thank you for all the wonderful information that you have shared. I especially love the post about how to choose a colour scheme for your home. I read the post and then did what you said. I could not have been easier to follow your instructions. My favourite colours are blue, pink and green. My most favourite is blue. I love pastels. I have been fighting with myself over the colour that I would use in my living room and when I followed your rules blue was the colour. What a relief to know that I had chosen correctly. My living room, dining room and front hall are all connected and so I will be painting the walls the same colour in these three rooms. I want a white kitchen with white appliances, cabinets and trim and I will paint blue on my walls and ceiling. My kitchen opens to a breakfast room and I would really like to paint the walls a pale pink with white trim and blue and green accents. The only other room on the main floor is the bathroom and I have not decided what I will do there. We have a beige toilet and pedestal sink and I do not like the colour. I would like to find a white toilet and sink and replace the beige ones. I lived many years in rentals that were always painted beige. It is not for me. Thank for the tips. I have come up with a plan that I can live with. Have a good weekend.

Great article! I love it! Question for you Kristie…. my bedroom is black, red and white. Black headboard/frame, black and white damask bedding, with some red accent pillows. I’m wanting to do a red accent wall behind our bed and then gray walls for the other 3. We have white wainscotting on the bottom half of all the walls. I’m just wondering if you think Behr’s “Sparrow” is a good choice for that color scheme? I was thinking that I didn’t want the gray to be TO dark because I have a lot of black in the room (our dresser and side tables are also black). What do you think? Also, I’m looking for a chair to go in the room… and thinking I might reupholster one… if so, what color do you think I should do? Should I do a pattern on the chair in say a red to bring in the red more, or even bring in a turquoise or aqua chair with a red pillow? Now I feel like I’m asking to many questions. I’m seriously thinking of getting a consultation with you (online of course since I am in Southern California). 🙂
