William Morris famously said, “Have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” Being one of the most realistic Interior Decorators I know, this is one of my favorite quotes! I’m always looking for ways to marry function and beauty in a space. With a little planning and foresight, your home can be both practical and pretty.
Check out The Decorologist’s latest article here on Houzz.com about making your space both beautiful and functional. Before you go there and see what it’s called, can I just please say that I don’t make up the headlines or opening verbage for these articles? Actually, I do make the headline up – but then they change it. So hard for me to give up control . . .
Lovely article, The title looks totally disjointed, It’s easy to tell what you wrote and what was added, your writing has a warmth to it 🙂 Wish I had a mudroom. Such a great idea with kids and I would have a much neater hallway if i did:)
The dining room is so us, it’s already a craft station and school homework prep zone but it’s a messy combo.
Love you blog 🙂
Thank you for commenting, Fay. I wish I had a mudroom, too. They didn’t include those in homes in the 1940’s, unfortunately!
