I’d Give My Eye Teeth for a Space Like This . . .

Image from The DecorologistWelcome!  Come right in, have a seat beside me in one of these patinaed leather chairs.

No, really.  Come on in and put your feet up.  Read a magazine – just relax.

What a lovely, peaceful palette – rich browns and creamy tans.  Textures like painted wood paneling, luxurious leather and fabrics, and the perfect mixture of lighting – overhead lanterns, glowing sconces, and lamplight perfect for reading.

What’s that, you say?  Time to come where?  Back where?   But, I really like it in here.  I was just settling in, for pete’s sake.

You almost made me forget why I came!  Geesh, here we go.

Did you guess I was at the dentist’s office?  Well, my dentist’s office is so lovely and soothing, it’s (almost) a joy to get your teeth worked on!  Since there are few windows in this office, why not wrap up in a warm soothing color like cocoa?  It looks like Benjamin Moore’s Whitall Brown HC-69 on the walls.  Works wonders when nerves need soothing . . .

This little modern chair is fabulous.   A decidedly modern take on lace, wouldn’t you agree?  They paired these dark walls with light limed wood flooring – coffee and cream perfection.

Even the sinks are stylish.

I *adore* this art grouping – retro dental advertisements framed in burled wood.  I think these walls are something akin to Benjamin Moore’s Carrington Beige HC -93.

Bet you’ve never seen art this attractive in your dental office.   I think this is wallpaper here, but the color looks like Benjamin Moore’s Brookline Beige HC-47.

My dentist, Dr. Jamie Burton, is really lucky because his wife, Lauren, did this office design herself.  But why can’t all commercial offices be this fabulous?  I think we’d all have more fun going to the dentist if they were.  I just wish they’d make me wait in the lobby a little longer – unfortunately, they’re always on schedule!

I don’t suppose you know where they found those little lacy chairs? I have seen them used on HGTV a few times and have drooled and dreamed since. But to no avail I cannot locate them. Do you have any info?

Very clever! You and your “eye teeth.” I was a little nervous about what the post would be about. 🙂 Love, love the armless settees with the contrasting piping. Wouldn’t they look great in a breakfast nook?

After your “staging a snow fort” post, I was actually expecting a tour of the tooth fairy’s cottage!

He’s my dentist, too, but I haven’t been in ages. You’ve inspired me to make an appointment! Wait… I don’t think that was your point in this blog, was it? But I do LOVE what they’ve done with the place.

it’s been this way for awhile, so i’m thinking you really have been remiss about taking care of your teeth, michelle . . .

my dentist’s office is stuck in the 90s – everything is southwest, down to the howling coyote wearing a bandana

oh lee, that is just . . . bad. seems like anything howling in a dentist’s office lobby is some really bad foreshadowing . . .
